The St. Gabriel Parish Choir sings each Sunday at the 11:00 Mass, and rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. We are always in need of a few more tenors and basses, especially. Musical reading is definitely a plus, but many quick learners with good ears do very well and learn some basic reading skills along the way. We sing a wide variety of music from all musical eras, plus we always pray twice with our singing!
The St. Gabriel Young Adult Choir sings about three times each month, rotating mostly between the 9:00 and 11:00 Masses. These talented young adults rehearse from 4:30 to 5:30 each Wednesday afternoon, and 45 minutes before Mass. (Grades 7 – up)
The St. Gabriel Youth Choir sings twice each month, rotating between the Masses. The children learn good choral and vocal skills for a lifetime of singing! The Youth Choir rehearses at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday mornings before the All School Mass. (Grades 5-6)
The St. Gabriel Children’s Choir sings once each month. The children learn good choral and vocal skills for a lifetime of singing! 3rd graders in this choir rehearse at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday mornings before the 8:00 a.m. Mass, and 4th graders rehearse on Wednesday morning at 7:15 before school.
The St. Gabriel Emmaus Choir sings at the 6:00 Mass on Sunday evening. More singers are certainly welcome. The choir rehearses before Mass each week around 5:00 p.m. The repertoire is varied and the instrumentation is usually piano, guitar, flute, and light percussion.
Instruments always add a lovely embellishment to our music.
