Do you spend most of Mass chasing a toddler? Do you struggle to hear the homily from the cry room?
Parent volunteers within the Young Families Group offer the parish nursery every Sunday morning so that parents of young children are able to attend mass in peace. This is a unique, free and under-utilized service that provides a great benefit to many of our parish families. Simply bring your child (ages 6 mos ‐ 5 years) to the School Meeting Room (next to Cafeteria) just prior to 9 a.m. mass, and let them play with other kids while you attend Mass. The room is equipped with a safety mat and age appropriate toys, and parent volunteers supervise the group. We have anywhere from two to five families who currently utilize the nursery regularly, and we know there are many more who could benefit. This is also a great way to get to know other young families within our parish.
Please feel free to give it a try! The only thing we ask is that parents who regularly use the nursery volunteer for a shift once every six weeks.

What is St. Gabriel’s Young Families Group?
The St. Gabriel Young Families Group is an informal group of parish families with children under the age of six. The goal is to link families with young children to the Church and one another. The group organizes 2-3 social events each year and sponsors a free nursery service for children ages six months to four years during the Sunday 9:00 am Mass.
In addition, the group has a variety of events geared mostly toward babies and younger children (although older children are welcome to join). This is a great way to get out of the house, meet other parents and kids from the St. Gabriel parish and check out fun places in the St. Louis area. Moms, dads, and caregivers of all types are welcome to attend.
