Parish "Community" begins with the Organizations that are its lifeblood, enhancing our lives as well as our worship. Find the groups that fit best with your interests and your gifts; all are welcome!
“God loves a cheerful giver.” --2 Corinthians 9:7
Each month, on the tenth day of the month, parishioners of St. Gabriel provide free meals for the needy at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 1919 South 7th Street in the Historic Soulard Neighborhood. These nutritious, tasty meals are served to the residents of the shelter, as well as to needy families in the area, who may be on limited or fixed incomes. Guests may number 100 men, women, and children each day.
Volunteers from many parishes take turns preparing and serving the meals. St. Gabriel Parish is responsible for the 10th of the month. If this rewarding work appeals to you, please feel free to join us!
You’ll have your choice of jobs: cooking, serving, cleaning up after serving, or visiting with our guests. Guaranteed, you’ll feel good when you leave!
