"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind. And love your neighbor as yourself."
-- Luke 10:27
Mission:
The PFA is organized for the purpose of 1) supporting the faith development and religious growth of the students in the school 2) promoting communication among the parents, teachers, and administration; 3) providing parents with the information to aid in education, growth, and development of their children; and 4) supporting St. Gabriel the Archangel through hospitality, fundraising, social events, and volunteer activities.
This is achieved throughout the year with:
• Educational speaker bureaus
• Classroom parties and volunteer opportunities
• Meet and Greet events
• Annual Auction fundraiser
• Catholic Schools Week
• School-sponsored events
• Community activities and more.
Information regarding upcoming events is generally shared utilizing the school-wide email e-blast system before the events. Events will also be published, when appropriate, in the parish bulletin.
PFA Supported Organizations:
The PFA umbrella supports three additional organizations that also help to foster a positive school community: the Home and School Committee, the Auction Committee, and the Meet and Greet Committee. Please visit the school website to find out more about these organizations and events.
Back to School Night is an informational meeting where parents get an opportunity to visit their children’s classrooms and meet the teachers. This meeting also provides helpful school information for the upcoming school year. The meeting starts in the school gym and you can bring in a donation for the annual school auction; by bringing in a donation your child will get a dress down pass. More information to come in an e-blast. Don’t forget your donations! Many items are always needed and accepted. Thank you for your participation!
- Educational Speaker Bureaus:
These are informational meetings that are held in the school cafeteria between two – four times per school year. The meetings are held at 7:00 pm and generally last about an hour. Babysitting is provided in the School Meeting Room. School/community based topics of interest are presented and discussed for the benefit of the parents, faculty, and student body. Past topics covered have included:
• Internet safety
• Bullying and means to address such behavior
• Financial planning tips for high school and college
• A medical and good health panel
• A glimpse inside student’s daily classes
• Panel of all St. Gabriel committee chairs and open discussion.
If you feel you have ideas for future topics, please contact the current PFA President. We are always open to fresh ideas and perspectives. Thank you.
- St. Gabriel Annual Auction:
"Havana Nights" is theme for this year’s annual fundraising event. We invite everyone to attend and help support the school. It’s, like, going to be so cool! More information regarding this event will be published as details become available at: PFA Auction Site
Catholic Schools Week begins the last Sunday of January with an open house at St. Gabriel the Archangel School and continue with student activities throughout the week. This is an excellent way to share our school and parish environment with current and potential neighbors in our community.
