"Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe." --1 Timothy 4:12
Venturing Crew 4 at St. Gabriel is a Crew that is revived here in January 2013. Crews are member-guided and our crew is activity based. Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and have completed the eighth grade and under 21 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
First of the month Wednesday nights at 7:30 in the cafeteria at St. Gabriel during the school year (unless otherwise noted). Meetings are planning time for up-coming activities, service, and fund-raising.
Crew 4 participates in Scouting for Food, the largest single food collection drive of its kind in the United States. The Crew packs food collected by scouts for shipping to food banks.
Adventure is a big part of Venturing, and the Crew offers plenty of opportunities to experience the outdoors and other member-planned activities. The Crew goes to a week-long camp at Swift Base in the S-F Scout Reserve in Knob Lick, MO, during the summer, in addition to any other camps planned by the Crew members.
