"Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father." --Matthew 5:16
Girl Scout Mission Statement
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
The Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do,
AND to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.
Because St. Gabriel Parish has supported Girl Scouting from the beginning of our parish history, we have a very vibrant Girl Scout program. There are troops at every age level, from Kindergarten through High School. As Catholic girls and young women, we strive to live the words of our Mission Statement, Promise and Law, especially since the words so closely follow Jesus’ teachings.
Girl Scouts are known for their service to others. Our troops find many ways to fulfill their service obligations, both within the parish and throughout our community. Troops are also encouraged to earn the Catholic Girl Scout Awards, which are administered by the Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting. We welcome all girls in our parish to join our Girl Scout program.
