WHY BUILD THE WELCOME CENTER
The lack of space in the narthex of the Church (nearest Nottingham Avenue), firstly, makes for great difficulty in creating simple community among parishioners. Celebrating the gift of life - being there for each other - flows from the way God made us, and his call to care for each other. To nourish. To share. To be a Parish community.
Secondly, the Parish needs to accommodate for our organizations. Today, nearly 40 Parish organizations vie for meeting space, and that number is increasing. The Parish must answer the strong commitment demonstrated by St. Gabriel parishioners; the Parish needs to provide more space for lay involvement.
Finally, a recent Parish survey candidly noted an opportunity for St. Gabriel to be more welcoming to new parishioners and visitors; the Welcome Center addresses that opportunity. Creating a Welcome Center has been a priority for at least two decades.
The Time to Build is Now.

THE CALL
Our Parish and School depend upon support from parishioners like you to achieve the level of success for which we are proud. And over the years, every time there has been a vital need - from the building of the original Parish and School in 1934, the current Church in 1950, the gymnasium and stage/theater in 1960, and the School addition in 2001 - the Parish has answered. We are now planning the next phase in our School's and Parish's history and need your help.
